Talent Senior Sourcer Lead

 

Overview:

The Talent Acquisition Senior Sourcer proactively identifies high-quality candidates that match desired skill sets for current or future job openings or recruitment initiatives for the bank.  Talent Acquisition Senior Sourcer will apply their ability to locate and attract top talent and utilize experience in setting benchmarks and prioritizing in order to meet customer needs. They will draw on extensive knowledge of Talent Acquisition and functional areas of the business, forging dynamic relationships with HR Partners and hiring managers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and deployment of innovative sourcing strategies for specific areas of the bank in order to build a pipeline of qualified candidates, using effective resources and optimizing various recruitment channels.
  • Proactively research and assess the viability of new recruitment methodologies via benchmarking and talent market research, and make recommendations on new sourcing approaches
  • Train and mentor recruiters within Talent Acquisition on how to improve their search and cold calling techniques.
  • Research and gather market intelligence to understand and execute against shifts in the marketplace that present recruiting opportunities; this includes networking with industry contacts, colleagues, trade groups, etc. to maintain knowledge base and generate leads
  • Directly contact prospective candidates via social media, email, and/or phone calls to gain their interest to a potential M&T Bank role
  • Craft custom outreach methods and provide meaningful candidate engagement to create a world-class candidate experience throughout the lifecycle of the recruitment process; this includes recommending and driving improvements with recruiters and interviewing teams to effectively screen and assess talent, as well as tracking the progress of candidates
  • Implement and execute on targeted recruitment initiatives, including consultation on the requirements with Recruiting Team Managers and hiring managers to generate and implement a specific sourcing strategy to locate and secure high quality talent
  • Utilize data and metrics from recruitment activities to provide insights and recommend continuous improvements to the recruitment process.
  • Work with the Manager of Talent Sourcing in implementing diversity recruiting strategies to build strong talent pipelines.
  • Serve in a mentoring capacity to new TA Sourcers
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Scope of Responsibilities:

The Talent Acquisition Sourcer will work under direction of the Manager of Talent Sourcing and will have frequent interactions with the greater Talent Acquisition team. The sourcer will build and maintain working relationships with hiring managers and the recruitment team. The sourcer will also frequently interact independently with internal and external candidates and clients, as well as other community contacts.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required

3+ years of direct recruiting and/or sourcing experience

Strong sales acuumen

Understanding of recruiting and employer branding strategies

Strong client focus with outstanding judgment, critical thinking and communication skills

Ability to multi-task and deal with uncertainties of an evolving, dynamic organization

Ability to work well under pressure and meet demanding deadlines

Strong attention to detail required

Research/sourcing skills. Including use of Boolean, LinkedIn, and alternative search techniques

Ability to deliver results with little supervision, and effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and candidates

Strong ability to build relationships internally and externally

Education and Experience Preferred:

MBA Degree

Understanding of financial services industry is preferred

Direct sourcing experience a plus
