At NMS, we expect our employees tofulfill that mission in every aspect of their work.SummaryTheRemote Vac/Water Truck Driver operates a truck to load or unload at potablewater/wastewater fixtures or loading dock areas.

The position will also deliver or pickupvarious commodities within an assigned area.This is an entry level position to become a water plant operator.

Allduties are to be performed in accordance with NMS’ mission, vision, and values.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEmptiesor fills tank as required or assists in the loading/unloading process.Countsmaterial or reads gauges, meters, or other measuring systems to recordquantities loaded or unloaded.Drivestruck to customer’s/clients premises.Connectshose to tank and/or fixtures and places truck in position at loadingdocks/areas.Performsvarious mechanical maintenance, repair, and fueling/oil duties for assignedvehicles.Maintainspumps and motors in vehicles and plant.Assistsplant operators in day to day operations and maintenance.Willbe required to obtain C.E.U.’s acceptable to ADEC toward obtaining variouswater treatment licenses.Maybe assigned a classification such as level I, II, or III.Attendsdaily safety tool box meetings and is required to do job safety evaluations foreach job.Notifysupervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being met.Thisposition has no supervisory responsibilities.Other duties that are pertinent to thedepartment or unit’s success also may be assigned.Other minimum progression standards willbe discussed at time of interview.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsHighSchool Diploma or GED equivalent.Musthave an Alaska class “A” or “B” CDL as required for the trucks.Dueto tanks being larger than 1,000 gallons, at tank endorsement “N” or “X” isrequired.ValidD.O.T physical.Musthave two (2) years’ experience which demonstrates successful and safe operationof large commercial vehicles in an arctic work setting.Mustbe able to obtain Water Distribution I and Wastewater Collection I certificateswithin 14 months.

Passing water and wastewater treatment exams may besubstituted for the collection and distribution licenses.Mustbe able to safely operate various hand and power tools.Avalid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3)years to be eligible under NMS’ vehicle insurance policy.Mustpass all pre-employment contract requirements which may include but are notlimited to: hair follicle drug test, physical and fit for duty assessment andhearing test.

Applicants not locatednear a testing facility are responsible for paying for travel to the nearesttesting facility.Mustbe able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees,customers and clients.Mustbe able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.Mustbe able to be on your feet for 12 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation.Mustbe able to live in dormitory style settings and meet cleanliness requirementsof the remote camp.Contractrequires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.Mustmeet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by thecompany and client.CANDIDATESRESIDING OUTSIDE ANCHORAGE AREA:Candidates residing inthe Lower 48 for any contract and/or hired for the Hilcorp contract:For the purposes of pre-employment testing, Anchorage willbe considered the point of hire (with the exception of drug testing, which willbe conducted near the candidate’s place of residence).

Employee is responsiblefor any travel expenses and needed accommodations related to pre−employmenttasks that need to be completed in Anchorage, AK.

This includes, but is notlimited to, any safety training requirements, required pre−employment testingand/or training such as physical, DOT physical/medical card, fit for duty,audiogram, and/or other testing required by contract/company (such as NSTC,APICC training, security licensing requirements, etc.Candidates residing inAlaska for Alyeska and Hillcorp contracts:pre-employment testing will be scheduled near the candidate’s area of residencewithin the state.
