Remote Commercial Lines Account Manager (The Upton Group)

This is a Full-time position in Washington, DC posted October 28, 2021.

The Upton Group, an Acrisure agency partner, is a commercial lines general agency that primarily works with franchise pizzerias and restaurants firms in procuring their insurance needs. We are a team-based organization that values strong work ethic and personal responsibility for each individual’s work product. To fuel our growth we are in search of a Commercial Lines Account Manager

Remote Available or for our location in Guntersville, AL

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manage ongoing client & carrier relationships
  • Communicate due dates, timelines and expectations to clients and carriers
  • Prepare insurance contracts for new clients, effectively utilizing resources
  • Administer renewals, marketing, negotiating pricing including preparing proposals, for existing clients
  • Explore all opportunities for exemplary service, working to maximize client/account retention
  • Confirm appropriate coverage has been placed or at least offered/recommended. If offered/recommended coverage has been rejected, ensure appropriate documentation is obtained.
  • Manage renewal process; change request and endorsement process, delegating to team members as appropriate.
  • Receive, review, respond to or delegate all client and underwriter correspondence (phone, email, mail, fax, etc.) in agency management system.
  • Review follow up (pending) list or activities on a daily basis and take appropriate action, manage the (potential) missed expiration report.
  • Ensure proper coding of agency commission, producer commission, service structure and agency structure (the “service and billing tab”), transact agency bill items unless delegated, review and take action on all account receivable items, manage the cancellation process.
  • Comply with agency standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in the training of other employees at the Manager’s request.
  • Demonstrate (by your personal example) a strong, positive, team-oriented approach with your interactions with others.

Review emails within 24 hours and client voicemails within 2-4 hours and respond accordingly.

Education And/or Experience

  • High school diploma or recognized equivalent, required.
  • 1+ years of commercial experience, required
  • P & C license, required or willing to obtain with 6 months of start date.

Technology Skills

  • AMS 360 or similar agency management software experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
