Work Life Intake Consultants work in a service center and provide customer service to employees and their families in order to assistance in locating and providing resources and referrals in their community.


Telephone Skills
WPO relies on the Intake Consultant’s telephone skills to grow and prosper.

These calls may be with an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Consultant, the client’s customer, or with a provider.

All calls, whether inbound or outbound, require the same high quality standards.

Please be aware that all calls may be monitored for quality assurance.

During the intake the Consultant will be required to:
Assess the Employee’s needs through targeted questioning
* Obtain the following data to create the “case description”:
* Employee’s personal information and information on the individual needing care (i.e.

child or elder)
* Clear explanation of the issues/needs
* Statement of urgency of need
* Reason service is needed
* Desired geographic location for referral search
* Any personalized criteria

Ensure all data entries are complete and accurate, with proper spelling and grammar
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills providing the caller with friendly, enthusiastic, and empathetic service
* Demonstrate excellent knowledge of conflict resolution skills
* Demonstrate ability to organize and prioritize regarding crisis versus non-crisis issues

In addition to completing telephonic intakes, the consultant may be asked to participate in additional tasks.

* Bachelor’s degree
* Strong English, verbal and written communication skills
