Matterport is a remote workplace with headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA.

This position can be based remotely in the US.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Matterport is looking for an experienced engineering leader and front-end expert to join our growing Experiences Engineering Team.

This role reports to our Chief Architect and will oversee a new front-end team within Experiences Engineering.

This team is responsible for public facing pages for our 3D models, so visitors can find interesting spaces from all over the world.

Core technologies include Typescript and React.

The team will work extensively with the 3D Experiences team that builds our 3D viewer, and the platform team that is responsible for our APIs, to show off our 3D spaces and our data in the best possible way.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Lead teams that deliver on multiple projects of increasing dependencies in an ambiguous and high-impact area.
Work closely with our product and design teams, as well as business stakeholders, to drive and execute on the next set of product innovations required to maintain and accelerate Matterport’s position as an industry leader.
Build products with a focus on scalability.
Foster an inclusive team culture, empower, challenge and coach team members to help grow their impact.
Enable teams to be successful by removing obstacles and developing strategic relationships throughout the business.
Help set the direction and goals for the team, in terms of project impact, product quality, and engineering efficiency.
Understand and stay current with market trends, emerging technology, and competitors.
Dive into coding and technical tasks as necessary and as time permits with your other management responsibilities.
Hire, coach and develop your team.

WHO YOU ARE:
5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in graphics/game development and/or JavaScript/web development
3+ years’ experience leading software engineering teams in a high growth and fast-paced environment
BA/BS in Computer Science (In lieu of degree, 3+ years’ work experience)
Experience in recruiting engineering talent and building out high-performing teams
